| NO LNG Coalition Mr. Mayor, City Council Members My name is Muriel Martin, and I live at 101 Ruby Lane in Crystal Pointe. I am here tonight as president of the Crystal Pointe Homeowners Association, to inform the council that on Thursday December 12th, at our monthly board meeting, it was determined that the Crystal Pointe Board of Directors is unanamously opposed to the proposed LNG terminal, regasification facility and electric power plant on Mare Island. Our neighborhood and board will vigourously work to keep this proposal from moving forward, and will work with other opposition groups, such as VCPR wherever possible to STOP this from coming into our community. The reasons for our position are surely obvious. The potential decline in property values and the increased health and safety risks to name a few. In addition, I have petitions to submit to the council, signed by the residents of Crystal Pointe underlining our strong opposition to this facility. The people of Crystal Pointe urge you to stop this project now. Thank You. |
