About Us Vallejo for Community
Planned Renewal
Vallejo for Community Planned Renewal (VallejoCPR) is a grass
roots community organization formed in May, 2002 on the heels of
the Vallejo City Council's vote to allow Bechtel and Shell Oil
to conduct a feasibility study on their proposed Mare Island Liquified
Natural Gas (LNG) and power plants project. VallejoCPR operates
solely on a volunteer basis. We are committed to:
- Stopping the Bechtel/Shell gas plant in the safety/feasibility
study phase
- Preserving the existing Mare Island Reuse Plan
- Informing the community about the impacts of the proposed LNG
gas and power plants and its risk to the City of Vallejo and surrounding
communities
- Bringing community members into the City's decision-making process
